5 years ago, Steve Jobs put the launch of the first iPhone that much problem with smartphones is the presence of many hard reprogrammable buttons. The solution? Touch screen. Now Logitech launches touchscreen universal remote control that promises a quantum leap of the same scale user experience.
Called Harmony Touch, the new control system works by infrared and can be adapted to any device, be it a BluRay player, TV or sound system.
At the top, Harmony Touch classic buttons retain some control, but the central section of the device is occupied by a 2.4-inch touch screen, fully programmable. Users can choose either frequently used functions or, for example, your favorite TV channels. The display is backlit, allowing its use in the dark, and allows for more intuitive gestures for controlling functions.
Logitech Harmony Touch is compatible with over 225,000 home entertainment devices and over 5000 brands and can control up to 15 devices simultaneously. Included charging stand eliminates the need to keep the remote charged and frequently changing batteries. Full details on the Logitech website.
